As the date (Feb. 8) is getting closer, the excitment keeps on building up with the announcement of new performances by Sia and duos by: Tony Bennett & Lady GaGa, Annie Lennox & Hozier, Tom Jone & Jessie J, Gwen Stefani & Adam Levine. And earlier on today, a special performance joined the list as Rihanna, Kanye West & Paul McCartney will perform a world debut of their collaboration FourFiveSeconds. Mr. Ego, Kanye West, is also set to deliver a “never-before-seen solo performance”. Can’t wait for the show.
Last Sunday night, Katy Perry performed during the super bowl halftime show and did a pretty nice job. She performed a medley of her famous hits (Roar, Dark horse, Teenage Dream, California Gurls, Firework), was joined onstage by Lenny Kravitz to perform I kissed a girl, and later on by Missy Elliot where she performed Get your freak on, Work it and Lose control.
It was nice and breathtaking but there was a lot of screaming and at some points I felt I was watching a kids show.
After so many years, beauty pageant contests are still famous as ever and surely very profitable shows to be broadcast worldwide.
Miss Colombia, Paulina Vega, was crowned Miss Universe 2014 during the ceremony held in Miami.
It seems the show was not without some drama and the win of Miss Colombia has been said to be controversial. Miss Jamaica, Kaci Fennell, was the favorite of many and instead of the cheering, the audience erupted into boos when she took 5th place at the contest. The discontent was also expressed all over social media and a special hashtag, trending since the event, was made just for this #MissJamaicaShouldHaveWon.
